Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology

Founded 1967 | Barrie, Ont.

Georgian recently launched a diploma in game design and simulation, a stand-alone nursing degree and a bridging program for students to go from the registered practical nurse (RPN) to the registered nurse (RN) program. Students can experience hands-on training in seven high-demand skilled trades through the new construction techniques certificate program. Students looking to explore a variety of courses and prepare for employment can develop their skills with a certificate in college foundations at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology.

The Peter B. Moore Advanced Technology Centre at the Barrie campus supports hands-on learning in electrical engineering and environmental sustainability, and offers a new advanced diploma in mechatronics. The building also houses the Alectra Centre for Research, Innovation and Commercialization, a hub for applied research. In 2023, the school won gold in Indigenous Education at the 2023 World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics’ Awards of Excellence for efforts to ensure preservation of the Anishnaabemowin language.
