Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology
Confederation college’s main campus is in Thunder Bay, which averages 2,121 hours of sunshine per year. On the shores of Lake Superior, students enjoy the convenience of city living as well as easy access to nature. The school operates seven more regional campuses throughout northwestern Ontario and a distance education division for students who wish to study online.
Conestoga offers more than 70 diploma, certificate, apprenticeship and educational upgrading programs. New for 2024, the two-year pharmacy technician diploma program allows graduates to provide essential pharmacy services.
The college’s two residences have both dorms and apartment-style options. Recent changes to residences include removing mandatory meal plans, building new kitchen space, adding more beds and lowering rates. Conestoga now boasts the lowest-priced residences in Ontario.
The college has focused support services for its large Indigenous student population.
The 45,000-square-foot Technology, Education and Collaboration Hub contributes to the development of a skilled technology and trades workforce in northwestern Ontario. The hub hosts research, incubation and technology transfer services. Confederation’s strategic plan emphasizes applied research and partnerships that support student success, Indigenous learning, sustainability and community well-being.
