Sault College
Sault College is in Sault Ste. Marie, centred among three Great Lakes. Students in natural environment programs have direct access to the lakes and northern boreal forests and attend a field camp at the beginning of the semester. Sault College offers certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas and graduate certificates, and is the largest deliverer of block apprenticeship training in northern Ontario. Programs include general arts and science, continuing education, business, culinary and hospitality training, engineering technology and aviation.
The school’s Institute of Environment, Education and Entrepreneurship (iE3) includes information-technology–equipped classrooms, laboratories and collaborative spaces for students to connect with research partners. Sault’s aviation program for commercial pilot training has 12 Zlin and three Piper Seminole airplanes and six state-of-the-art flight simulators, including two new Zlin aircraft that arrived in 2022, and recent upgrades to the program’s facilities. Flight simulators at the airport mean students can train when flights are cancelled due to poor weather.
