Mount Royal University offers undergraduate degrees, diplomas and certificate programs through five faculties. The school’s strength lies in its emphasis on small class sizes, unique programs and applied learning. “Mount Royal’s faculty and staff are dedicated to providing students with a broad and transformative education, preparing them to become lifelong learners and active global citizens in a rapidly changing world.” says president Tim Rahilly. The school is known for its comprehensive programs in business, communications, nursing and public relations. It is also home to unique research centres, including the Institute for Community Prosperity, the Centre for Child Well-Being and the Institute for Environmental Sustainability. The CN Supply Chain Analytics Lab provides business students with the opportunity to work on the Refinitiv Eikon data platform, which accesses the inner workings of companies around the world in real time. In 2023, the school launched a new four-year bachelor’s degree in data science to prepare students for such in-demand careers as data scientist, data analyst and AI domain architect. The campus is a short drive from downtown Calgary. Facilities include broadcast studios, an aviation simulator and an award-winning eco-building: the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning. The Riddell Library and Learning Centre features an Experience (VR) Lab, soundproof digital project rooms and a 360-degree data visualization studio.

Campus buzz: Every year, Mount Royal athletes take on the University of Calgary in the Crowchild Classic, a sports competition whereby the results of all sports games between the two schools are tallied and the winner gets the prize—a manhole cover—to display for the year.
