Students attending the main campus of Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops are treated to spectacular views of the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers. The 250-hectare campus includes a university village with shopping, dining, residential developments and outdoor meeting spaces. TRU’s secondary campus is in Williams Lake, with regional centres in Ashcroft and Cache Creek, Barriere, Clearwater, 100 Mile House, Lillooet, Lytton and Williams Lake. TRU offers 140 on-campus programs and another 60 programs through its Open Learning division. The school also hosts the B.C. Centre for Open Learning, with 60-plus online programs.

TRU’s Chappell Family Building for Nursing and Population Health includes state-of-the-art equipment and simulation environments. The 57,000-square-foot Industrial Training and Technology Centre, along with the Trades and Technology building, houses the school’s trade and technology programs. The campuses welcome a diverse student population that is 10 per cent Indigenous and 24 per cent international.

First Nation Applied Economics: Students learn about the issues that can arise in First Nations economic development and communities, while designing and executing development plans in this certificate program.

Police and Justice Studies: Students prepare mentally and physically for a future in policing and justice through studies in psychology, criminology, community issues, ethics and investigating and evidence.
