And the top American college is ... (insert drumroll)
Princeton University — inarguably.
Forbes Magazine, being a national business publication, thinks that competition is good. And that’s why, according to the first annual "America’s Best Colleges" issue, it has jumped into the ranking game. "For too many years, information about the quality of American higher education has been monopolized by one publication, U.S. News & World Report," write the editors of last week’s special report.
And although they agree with their competitor U.S. News & World Report that Princeton is the bomb, Forbes’ fave five aren’t what you may have expected. U.S. News’ top five goe, predictably, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and UPenn. But Forbes says: Princeton, California Institute of Technology, Harvard, Swarthmore College, and Williams College.
