Bedbugs discovered at UNB
School only sees one or two cases a year
Just before the Christmas break ended bedbugs were discovered in a University of New Brunswick residence. "It’s not difficult to control if students report to us immediately that they suspect bedbugs either because they have seen them or because they have the small bites typical of bedbugs," residence life director, James Brown told the Bunswickan. To combat the pests, infested rooms are steamed cleaned at least three times, and UNB has been using a new chemical called Demand to fight the bugs. While bedbugs are becoming increasingly common in the Maritimes, Brown said UNB only sees one or two cases a year.
