Canadian universities more prepared than LA Times
Canadian universities have poured a lot of resources into planning and preparation for potential emergencies/disasters on their campuses. (I’ve been following this story closely and will have a report on it when I return from vacation at the end of August)
Every university (to the best of my knowledge) have plans in place to replace their webpages with low-bandwidth informational pages in the event of a campus emergency.
This makes them more prepared than the LA Times which suffered overload and went off-line soon after the LA earthquake today.
