Canadian Union of Public Employees members from across Ontario are planning to picket with striking faculty at the University of Windsor.Union official Dan Crow says dozens of members are heading down and adds it doesn’t matter that the Windsor faculty aren’t members of CUPE. He says it’s important to show solidarity and says the faculty has the full support of his union.

More than 1,000 faculty members are on strike and no talks have been scheduled between the union and the university administration since the job action began Wednesday.

Classes are cancelled for the university’s more than 16,000 students.

While the school’s student alliance officially supports the strike, its president says students are concerned about when they’ll be able to go back to class.
