Enrollment in Ontario teacher’s colleges dropping

Which schools suffered the biggest drops?

The number of students who accepted offers from Ontario teacher’s colleges is down six per cent this year, falling to from 7,753 to 7,286, according to the Ontario University Application Service. That could mean lower budgets for most schools across the province, although some of them will be smarting more than others. Here’s a list of the schools, from the biggest drop to the biggest gain.

  1. York - down 27 per cent
  2. UOIT - down 23 per cent
  3. U of T - down 12 per cent
  4. Ottawa - down seven per cent
  5. Lakehead - down seven per cent
  6. Wilfrid Laurier - down five per cent
  7. Brock - down four per cent
  8. Windsor - down three per cent
  9. Nipissing - up two per cent
  10. Laurentian - up three per cent
  11. Trent - up six per cent
  12. Western - up six per cent
  13. Queen’s - up 11 per cent
