N.S. Liberal leader says education key to economic growth

Campaigning for votes at Saint Mary’s, Liberal leader calls for lower tuition

Nova Scotia Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil used an appearance at Saint Mary’s University today to reiterate his party’s education plank as he campaigns for Tuesday’s vote.

McNeil, who was on hand for a student-led discussion on the knowledge economy, says such events highlight the importance of universities to the province’s economic growth and development.

The Liberal platform includes commitments to early learning programming and lower tuition.

McNeil says his party has worked with student groups in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
