Ontario students stranded in Japan

Second group has flight rerouted midair

A group of 25 students and five teachers taking a high school trip in Tokyo were on a tour bus when an 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit Japan, triggering a devastating Tsunami. The group, from East Northumberland Secondary School, had to be diverted to an alternate hotel, but are currently trying to arrange a flight back to Canada. Another group of high school students, from Nepanee Ont., were flying to Tokyo this morning, but after the Tsunami hit, the plane rerouted to Alaska.
