The Newfoundland and Labrador government says 90 people who had their personal information exposed on a student aid website have been contacted, but there could be more affected by the breach.Last month, the Education Department reported an incident involving unauthorized access to a student aid client’s personal information.

Education Minister Joan Burke says the province’s chief information officer has determined that the breach was an isolated incident.

Burke says the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has finished its investigation into the security breach and found no criminal activity or intent.

Burke says there could be more people affected by the exposure but that security experts haven’t been able to identify them.

She says that’s because the computer logs keeping that information have been cleared to maintain the efficiency of the student aid website.
