Ryerson University broke the Guinness World Record for the most cowbell ringers today. Crowds gathered on the quad under sunny skies for the Orientation Week event. The university says it counted 1,003 participants, meaning they obliterated the previous Swiss record of 640.
Volunteers carted in boxes and boxes of blue cowbells.
This is Ryerson’s mascott, Eggy, apparently.
Waiting for the cowbell ringing to begin…
The band SEAM was even louder than the bells.
More than 1,000 showed up to be part of history.
The usually quiet quad was anything but today.
These pink shirts are in fashion for Orientation Week.
MORE cowbell
2016. As in class of 2016. Not 2016 participants.
There’s nothing like cowbell to bring people together.
