Simon Fraser Voter Turnout is high

I just spoke to the Chief Electoral Officer of the Simon Fraser Students Society Independent Electoral Commission. He informs me that over 1600 students vote yesterday on the first day of the vote on independence from the Canadian Federation of Students. By comparison, this is the same number of people that vote over three days in last year’s SFSS election.

I’m told that the campus is blanketed with dozens of paid CFS staff and politicians who are pushing people to the polls. This is helping to drive up the visibility of the vote. A large grassroots independence campus is also driving up turnout.

It will be interesting to see the results tomorrow. (Of course, the potential court case will be interesting as well.)

I going to predict a 70% vote in favour of independence.
