Sobey Foundation gives $500,000 to Mount Allison
Money will go to endowed scholarships
The David and Faye Sobey Foundation and the Sobey Foundation have donated $500,000 to Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B.The money will be used for endowed scholarships for students who have attended the school for at least a year.
University President and Vice-Chancellor Robert Campbell says the first Sobeys Performance Scholarship will be awarded this coming fall to a student who has achieved high academic standing and managed to integrate extracurricular activities into their schedule.
The university awards close to $2 million in scholarships and bursaries each year.
