The Varsity vs. Coleman: it’s a draw

The Varsity published it’s piece on Ontario’s new Textbook and Technology today.

It’s a solid piece and shows how little information was actually available prior to last night. Students registered in only for the fall session at the University of Toronto have until October 8 to apply for the grant. It’s troubling to think they have less than four weeks and nobody’s bothered to inform them.

If I were a students union looking to get this information out, I’d be preparing slides and overheads to be distributed to professors. The only way students will know about this mail-in rebate is if they are told. Most students don’t read the student newspaper and few check the university website.
