VIU profs vote for strike
Faculty union gives university until March 4 before job action will be taken
Professors at Vancouver Island University have voted 84 per cent in favour of giving the faculty association a strike mandate. The union which represents 500 faculty is giving the university until March 4 before job action will be taken. The association’s last contract expired in March 2010.
