York researcher charged with child porn takes life

Richard Dyde, the York University researcher who was facing charges in relation to an international child pornography probe committed suicide on Thursday. Dyde, 47, had been charged with making, possessing and making available  child pornography, and was among the 57 men arrested in Canada, the United States and Europe, whose names were released by police on Wednesday. Seven of the accused were from Toronto including Toby Stimpson, 24, who, until his arrest, had been a residence don at York.
