Université du Québec à Montréal offers more than 300 programs and several degree options in the arts, humanities and social sciences, political science and law, management, communications, education and science. Université du Québec à Montréal aims to add an international dimension to all areas of study and has research and exchange collaborations with 460 partner institutions in 68 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. “At our university, you will find a committed, talented community at the forefront of major issues in the arts, communication, science, management, political science, law, the humanities and education,” says rector Stéphane Pallage. “There is a place at UQAM for each of your dreams.”
The campus is located in two of Montreal’s liveliest districts: the Latin Quarter and the Quartier des spectacles. It’s easy to get around, as there is direct access to two Metro stations, which get good use during the cold winters. Thanks to UQAM’s participation in a city greening initiative, Accès jardins, students and the public have access to more urban gardens and redeveloped green spaces. Adding to the vibrancy are the nearly 3,800 international students who have come from 95 countries to study at UQAM. In addition to the main campus, UQAM has four regional campuses that offer undergraduate and master’s studies.
Campus buzz: The recently updated Hubert-Aquin cafeteria now serves La bonne élève (the Good Student), a non-alcoholic beer created by the school in partnership with the Saint-Houblon microbrewery.

Standout programs
Biology through Problem-Based Learning: This program explores biodiversity and the environment through a distinct teaching approach that focuses on real-world case studies and group collaboration. In third year, students can take part in multidisciplinary projects and conferences.
Sexology: This bachelor program, which includes an internship in third year, brings an interdisciplinary perspective to the study of human sexuality. Professors come from a range of disciplines including anthropology, psychology, sociology, criminology and community health.
International Relations and International Law: Students study the political and legal challenges of globalization. Third year features optional courses, at UQAM or abroad, that consider the effects of globalization on issues such as human rights and sustainable consumption.
