Harry and Meghan are older than recent royal brides and grooms

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have departed from royal wedding tradition in a number of ways, from inviting members of the public to their celebration, to asking for charity donations in lieu of gifts. But their age is also notable. Prince Harry and Markle will be long in the tooth when they recite their vows compared to some recent royal couples. Prince Harry is one year older than his father was when he married Princess Diana, while Markle is several years older than her future-sister-in-law when she said “I do” to Prince William.
