First ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ the feel-good melodrama of the year, stirred up controversy in India for its portrayal of Mumbai’s slums. Now Kate Winslet is feeling the heat from the Jewish community for her portrayal of a former Nazi guard who stood by as hundreds of prisoners perished. Movies about the Holocaust traditionally do well at the Oscars.
