Three University of Calgary students have been charged with trespassing and three others are awaiting summonses after staging a campus pro-life protest in which they unfurled graphic banners of aborted fetuses. Slapping trespassing charges on students is unusual, and some are rallying around the pro-lifers. "It’s sad to see a public institution that is funded by taxpayers, that has as its mission the quest for truth, acting like a bully to suppress the peaceful expression of an opinion on campus," says Canadian Constitution Foundation executive director John Carpay, who is part of a group of lawyers representing the students.
