Alex Trebek, the 72-year-old Canadian-born host of Jeopardy!, is suffering from a torn Achilles’ tendon after chasing a burglar through a San Francisco hotel on Wednesday. Trebek says he was awakened at 2:30 a.m. by an intruder burglarizing his room at the San Francisco Downtown Marriot. Trebek chased the intruder down the hall until his heel gave out, at which point he called security and gave a physical description of the thief. The suspect, 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers, was later apprehended and Trebek’s cell phone and wallet were returned to him, although a bracelet, once belonging to his mother, was still missing. Moyers, who has a criminal record, denied entering Trebek’s room.
