The multifarious uses of Viagra have been trickling out for quite some time now. Studies have linked the wonder-drug to a number of disparate health benefits, including reducing jet leg, helping with altitude sickness and lowering pulmonary hypertension. Earlier this month, Maclean’s reported on a growing number of patients who were taking it to expedite their recoveries from strokes.

The latest research comes from Queens University, which shows how Viagra could help prevent stroke. The little blue pill can help prevent platelets from building up; blockages that lead to strokes.

The team’s findings were published online in the international journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
