In 1998, after spending ten years in prison for the murder of a bank manager, Jean-Claude Demey busted out of jail and has been on the run ever since. He’s now back behind bars thanks to a wrong turn he drunkenly took while driving with some friends in Reims, France. The men were trying to avoid roadwork, but wound up in a police station parking lot, where they were arrested for drunk driving and Demey’s identity was discovered. He’ll be held in France until a court orders his return to Belgium or he consents to extradition.
