Elections Canada chief finds no grounds to investigate NDP

No evidence of illegal advertising at national convention

Canada’s chief electoral officer says there is no evidence to back charges that the NDP received illegal contributions at its national convention last spring. Marc Maynard’s comments came a week after the Parliamentary ethics commissioner told MPs she had no grounds to investigate a Tory complaint about union advertising at the NDP’s June convention.
