Eli Manning the highest-paid player in the National Football League
The New York Giants are poised to make quarterback Eli Manning the highest-paid player in the NFL. No official announcement has been made, but according to a source involved in the negotiations the two parties have agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $97.5 million—$35 million is guaranteed. The source said Wednesday that the final details should be finished later that day and that the contract would soon be signed. Manning will be paid $9.4 million this season, the last in the original deal he made in 2004. The extension will keep him with the Giants through the 2015 season.
