Eliminate two-week waiting period for EI, increasing benefit rate to 60%

The Bloc Quebecois has promised to amend Canada’s Employment Insurance Act by eliminating the two-week waiting period and increasing the benefit rate to 60 per cent of wages earned. The Bloc will also look into extending the EI program to the self-employed.
