Former IMF chief to dodge sexual assault charges
Charges against Dominique Strauss-Kahn to drop on July 18
Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn will likely be acquitted on all sexual assault charges because U.S. prosecutors doubt his accuser’s credibility. Sources close to the case say his accuser—a Guinean-born hotel maid—presented an inconsistent story to the court; one that cannot possibly sustain an entire case. Strauss-Kahn, once considered a contender for the French presidency, was forced to resign from his post as IMF chief following the accusation. Sources say the charges will probably be dropped against him on July 18, his next scheduled court date.
