Tens of thousands of Canada Day revelers have welcomed Queen Elizabeth to Parliament Hill today. Her Majesty, dressed in red for the occasion, arrived with Prince Philip in a horse-drawn carriage, with a mounted RCMP escort. The 84-year-old monarch received a 21-gun salute, fly-bys by CF-18 jet fighters, performances by the Snowbirds, and a march-past by the Guard of Honour. Quebec soprano Marie-Josee Lord sang "God Save the Queen." The Queen’s last appearance in Ottawa for Canada was in 1997.
