Journalist who escaped Eaton Centre shootings reported dead in Colorado massacre

Jessica Ghawi came out of Eaton Centre shopping mall shooting in Toronto unscathed, but was not so fortunate this morning at the Batman movie premiere in Colorado. The aspiring sportscaster, who was known on the air and on Twitter as Jessica Redfield, is reportedly one of at least 12 victims of the shooting at a suburban Denver movie theatre, according to the National Post.

In one of her previous blog posts, she writes an account of her being at the Eaton Centre shooting. Her twitter account shows that she was attending the movie premiere, but the tweets abruptly stop. A collection of tweets from family and friends, compiled by CBC, suggests that she was killed when a gunman opened fire at the sold out showing of Batman: The Dark Night Rises early Friday morning in Aurora, Colorado.

She had just moved to the Denver from San Antonio, Texas, according to Kens5 News.
