Judy’s smoking mad!
Are those crayons in Judy Wasylycia-Leis’ hands? Nope, they are flavoured cigarettes. The NDP health critic unveiled a draft bill aimed at shutting down loopholes in the Tobacco Act by tightening requirements on labeling, packaging and the sale of flavoured tobacco products.
In a release Wasylycia-Leis noted: “The latest flavouring gimmick is clearly an industry attempt to keep smokers smoking and bring in new young recruits. Vanilla, chocolate-mint, wild berry – who is this aimed at? If the Conservatives won’t step in for our kids’ sake, the NDP certainly intends to.”
