Kate Winslet wins on award speech, loses on dress

Kate Winslet managed to keep her tears in check during her acceptance speech for her best actress award for her performance in The Reader at last night’s BAFTA awards in London, reports the Guardian. Obviously having learned from her much-mocked Golden Globe acceptance speech during which she appeared close to hyperventilating, Winslet was calm and gracious. "To be given this award at home, this really means a great deal to me. Thank you, BAFTA, thank you," she said. The paper was less approving of the actress’s black form-fitting Zac Posen gown in its wrap-up of the night’s fashion hits and misses, noting "we’re beginning to get a little bored with her single-minded devotion to body-con dresses."  For other fashion hits and misses — including what the "world’s smuggest couple" wore:
