Leonard Cohen’s comeback tour is old hat in Canada. A function of soured business relationships that put a big dent in his retirement account, Cohen has already wound his way through here and around Europe. But New Yorkers will get their first chance in 15 years to see the Montreal bard perform on Feb. 19 at The Beacon Theatre, an intimate setting. The gig may be the beginning or a tour in the U.S.–or just a chance for Cohen to revisit old haunts like the Chelsea Hotel, the place where he once “wrote” a song with Janis Joplin. See the ditty in question here, complete with Spanish subtitles.
