Making money with Twitter

As Twitter continues to carve a place for itself on the Internet, companies are beginning to look to it as a way of drumming up business. Twitter essentially lets users broadcast 140 character messages, or "tweets." But it also features a powerful search tool. One CEO whose company sells video software found 12 new clients trolling Twitter for discussions related to his product. Others are using the site as a way to alert their customers about coming products or to do market research (there are five million people using Twitter). It’s a trend that appears to be giving the up-and-coming social networking site a healthy shot of mainstream legitimacy.
