Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a reality series
Do arranged marriages work better? A CBS aims to find out.
CBS has ordered a new reality show, tentatively called "Arranged Marriage," where lonely, pathetic single people are married off to people they hardly know. The show will follow these marriages and see if old-fashioned arranged marriages work any better or worse than the modern kind. The network claims that the premise is not insensitive, inhumane or stupid, but just a way of seeing how Old-World traditions play in America. Do you get the feeling that CBS executives have watched "Fiddler On the Roof" too many times?
