Sources say Obama wants both sides to concentrate on a border for new Palestinian state

After months of behind-closed-doors talks, the broad lines of a possible Mid-East peace deal are emerging. Israel’s Haaretz newspaper quotes Palestinian sources who say the Obama administration wants both sides to focus first on the borders of a new Palestinian state, and will soon set a year-and-a-half timeline for a peace agreement. The Americans also want to see Israel seal a deal with Lebanon and Syria over the same period.
