Military commander facing first-degree murder charges

Charges related to deaths of two women in CFB Trenton area

Col. Russell Williams, commander of CFB Trenton, was arrested Sunday and charged with the murders of Jessica Lloyd of Belleville and Marie France Comeau, a 38-year-old corporal at CFB Trenton. Comeau was found dead in her Brighton home in late November and Lloyd went missing on Jan. 28; her body was discovered on Monday. Along with the two counts of first-degree murder, Williams is also facing charges of forcible confinement, break and enter, and sexual assault. Williams is a 23-year veteran of the Canadian Forces.
