MP questions executive bonuses at Nortel
Executives are expected to appear in the House before the summer recess
MPs are questioning Nortel executives who continue to earn "retention bonuses" at the expense of their current and former employees. Recent bonuses totalled $30 million, of which $7.3 was split between eight executives. "Here you have senior executives at Nortel paying themselves millions of dollars in bonuses at a time when the company is tanking," says NDP MP Thomas Mulcair, "and we just find it inadmissible and we want answers." A date has not been set, but the executives are expected to appear in the House before the summer recess.
