Mubarak trial date set

Former Egyptian leader and his sons charged with corruption and murder

A court in Egypt has set the trail date for Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s former president, his two sons and a business associate for August 3. They are appearing in a criminal court in Cairo. All three are charged with corruption and premeditated murder of protesters during the February uprising which forced Mubarak out of power. A government panel of doctors declared Mubarak too ill to be imprisoned while waiting for trail; he was at risk of a heart-attack, suffering from depression, and too sick to get out of bed without help.
