Olivia Chow has no plans to endorse any candidate to succeed her late husband, Jack Layton, as leader of the New Democratic Party. In an interview with the CBC’s Peter Mansbridge, the Trinity-Spadina NDP MP said she would not vie for the job herself, nor would she endorse another candidate to fill the role. She did suggest that many people are capable of fulfilling Layton’s dreams for the party. “The values are eternal,” she said. “And if that—if those values come forward, people have it inside them to do good things.”
