The al-Qaeda leader hasn’t been seen in years, but he’s still yapping. In his latest tough-talking audiotape, Osama bin Laden says President Barack Obama has “planted seeds for hatred and revenge against” the United States in the Muslim world—and warned Americans to prepare for the consequences. His remarks, aired Wednesday by Al Jazeera television, came just one day after his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, described Obama as a criminal and urged Muslims not to fall for his “polished” words. Al-Qaeda’s propaganda campaign is a desperate attempt to pre-empt Obama’s “goodwill tour” to the Middle East, where he is scheduled to deliver a major speech to the Muslim world on Thursday.
