PETA has turned its attention to Canada, using the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games as a platform to campaign against hunting seals on the Atlantic coast. In a recently launched website, (http://www.olympicshame2010.com/) PETA calls on Vancouver’s Organizing Committee to end the "seal slaughter" immediately. The site reimagines VANOC mascots Miga, Quatchi and Sumi as seal-clubbing monsters and calls upon people to "boycott a product that is vital to Canada’s economy: maple syrup."
