Texas Governor Rick Perry will end his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination this morning, according to the Washington Post. He is expected to throw his support behind former house speaker Newt Gingrich, who told the newspaper in an email that he knows “not much. Rumours” about Perry’s alleged endorsement. The governor is expected to formally announce his exit from the race at a press conference at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday in North Charleston, South Carolina, just two days before the crucial primary in the conservative southern state.
