Rogers bumps GM as Canucks’ home sponsor
Telecommunications company buys right to plaster its name on Vancouver rink
Rogers Communications, which owns Maclean’s, has taken over the sponsorship of the home of the Vancouver Canucks. The arena formerly known as GM place will soon be rechristened with the Rogers moniker after the Toronto-based telecommunications giant reportedly beat out rival Telus for the rink’s naming rights. The move now gives Rogers the naming rights to two major Canadian sports facilities, the other being the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
