Harlan Ellison, the famed science-fiction writer, has always complained about the way the producers changed his script for the Star Trek episode "The City On the Edge of Forever" (the one where Captain Kirk falls in love with Joan Collins). But now he’s letting his lawyers complain for him: the 74 year-old writer is suing Paramount for not paying him royalties from the merchandising and adaptations of this popular episode, particularly a trilogy of books that have been spun off from the premise. So he’s angry that the producers changed his original vision for the episode, but he’s even angrier about not getting paid for it.
