Canada Post has suspended mail service to a four-block area of Moose Jaw, Sask. after a pair of Swainson Hawks threatened a mail carrier. When the mail carrier tried to deliver mail, the birds swooped down and threatened to attack. In 2009, Canada Post suspended home delivery in the same area due to aggressive hawks. The birds are nested in a pine tree on Marie Fish’s property. Fish says she asked conservation officers to remove the nest, but they refused. Until the hawk is determined not to be a threat, area residents will have to pick up their mail at the post office downtown.
