Deal brokered by Arab states leaves Syrian opposition skeptical
Syrian president Bashar al-Assad agreed to withdraw the military from the streets under intense pressure from the Arab League. According to a recent deal brokered by the Arab states, Assad is ready to negotiate with opposition leaders. Domestic opponents, however, remain skeptical of the agreement, which does not plan for the president’s ousting.
