‘Tartan Taliban’ arrested

Former Scottish aid-worker has been detained. Details are scarce.

A former Scottish aid-worker nicknamed the “Tartan Taliban” for his militant Islamist beliefs, has been arrested in Pakistan. Details are scare, but it’s not the first time that the former James McLintock has run afoul of intelligence services and anti-terrorism police. At the height of the U.S. hunt for Osama bin Laden in 2001, McLintock, who converted to Islam more than two decades ago, was arrested trying to leave Afghanistan.
